About East Prairie, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Found in Mississippi County, Missouri, East Prairie is a city with approximately 3,200 residents. Previously known as Bell’s Grade and Hibbard, the history of East Prairie extends back to the early 1880s. More recently, East Prairie made the news when a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck the region. This community is best known for hosting the annual Tour de Corn bicycle ride throughout the Sweetcorn Festival, and the event attracts cyclists from surrounding states that participate in order to raise money for local area charities.

In East Prairie, outdoor recreation makes up a bulk of the area’s attractions. The Big Oak Tree State Park is the most notable of thee attractions, and the park features towering oak and hickory trees that average more than 120 feet tall. Activities at this park include playgrounds, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. The Towosahgy State Historic Site is also found in East Prairie, and this site features a former civil ceremonial center and fortified village used by Mississippian people who lived there from 1000 A.D. to 1400 A.D.

East Prairie residents will need to invest in both heat pump or furnace systems and a central air conditioning unit to use at different times of the year, and HVAC technicians recommend that the fall and spring months are used to make sure that the units are operating properly. Summers in East Prairie tend to be hot, hazy, and muggy, and while average highs will reach the upper 80s, high levels of humidity will make it feel even more uncomfortable, requiring a safe and cool place to beat the heat. On the other hand, weather conditions can become dangerous during the colder winter months, especially since overnight temperatures fall below the freezing point. During these months, a heat pump or furnace will be critical in keeping East Prairie area residents comfortable throughout these months.
